Tanks Remake 2

Tanks Remake 2

We’re currently working on completely new graphics for Strange World: Castaway. That being said, we have some more spare time and we decided to work on Tanks Remake 2.

Game itself is based on pretty popular game from NES consoles “Battle City”. You control a tank and your task is to defend your eagle and destroy other tanks. To make it more fun we’ve improved gameplay though – added entire new control system (now 8-sides and 360 degrees rotation), new game modes with other objectives and in plans there’s a multiplayer. We still don’t know which project should we put to the contest, this will be decided later.

Here’s a screenshot from game:

Some news

Some news

To our team have recently joined two members – one additional visual artist and musician :) Here’s a little sneak into the current state of work, screen shows new GUI and yet again city in action:

As you can see we’ve added weapons to attract gameplay more. We’ve also finished our ‘cave-design’ levels and I’ll post some screenshots of that later. Now we’re focusing on doing city levels, menu, minor bugfixes and polishing. We’re planning on releasing the game in June, but this will be hard task since we have a lot of other duties  as well.

First project

First project

We are currently working on a 2D game project. Strange World: Castaway is going to be platform game with shooter elements (or shooter with platform elements, not really decided on what should be most essential in gameplay). Anyway, in game you will play with our Alien, dude that fall with his ship and got stuck on some weird planet. We have actually few concepts for action, levels. We’ve prepered maps in a cave but also in a city. While playing in cave we mostly focus on giant maps with a lot of places to look for and many platform elements, in city instead we would like to see some more action in meaning of fighting with guns and stuff. Having that said, game cannot really be categorized in one type, we are looking forward to find a nice synthesis between those elements. Of course it’s hard to balance it so we’ll need advice from you, the actual audience.

Here is one screenshot to give you this first glance at this game. Note that UI might be changed, this level is for testing purposes and who the hell knows if game is not gonna be completely different in next week:

That’s it for now. Will keep you updated.
